I had a tubal ligation about 15 yrs ago. I have been recently diagnosed with an ovarian cyst...The only time I ever got a cyst before was right before I became pregnant. Can you explain this all to me?

I've been battling with cysts for the pass 4 years, the doctors said that I have polycystic ovaries, they are very painful when they are there, I would visit the emergency room sometimes twice a month for the very same complaint. Then they would just give me some anti-biotics shrink it and send me on my way, with some birth control pills, to so cally regulate my periods. And to top it off I'm getting unwanted hairs in areas as a man, and gaining weight faster than I could take off, I'm usually not in the mood for any intercourse at times then again I'm all for it. My doctors here in Trinidad said its normal and I have to acept it and move on. I know that there's a way to control or even get rid of it permenantly, I just haven't found it yet. For the past 2 months I was a normal person, but my fear still lives that I may have another set of cysts and not know thinking that I'm pregnant cause I have all the symtoms of a pregnant woman but a urine test reads negative, so when I go for my ultra sound I'll know for sure. To those who have lots of pain the best thing I think is for that pain is warm water bath, and some hot tea. watch your diet, be careful of greesy foods especially, and drink lots of water. It won't go away just like that but it would help prevent it from getting worse, and help keep it away long enough for you to have a normal life and probably start your family. I'm taking my own advice and still looking out for yours. Thanks for caring.

I am 23 years old and got married on December 2006.
In the month of July 2008 me and my husband planned for a baby.
But my luck didn't give me support... i had experienced a severe pain in my lower abdominal and then we went to Emergency Room, there doctors did ultrasound and found out that i am having an ovarian cyst ,but they didn;t tell me its description of how big it is and all, theyy just said that "You have an ovarian cyst and it is common in women and you should visit a specialist". After that we got an appointment to a OBGYN in the month of august and when doc. did my vagina test then he showed me that cyst was gone... he said that it may be gone while my period in 1st week of august.
Then Again me and my husband tried to conceive but in whole august month i felt the pain in my belly and i had frequent urination too.
And now what--- I got my periods again in the month of august lask week (few days earlier) but they ended for 2 days only they were strange this time. And now in september i am again feeling the same pain.
I am very confused what to do.We really want a baby and and we cannot do anything fro that as it is paining a lot.
Please help me what should i do now.
I am from India and do not have any much knowledge about doctors here in America New Jersy.
Please give me a suggestion that where should i go now,as my earlier tests reports are even not with me.,.... they are not willing to give me my reports......

I have been dealing with this pain since I had an c-section 5 months ago. About an week after giving birth I started to get this painful burning sensation in the lower right side of my stomach. I also had an lump the size of an golf ball at the site of my pain but the lump eventually went away. When I mention all of this to my ob doctor she stated that the lump was just my uterus and she never heard of such pain. My periods have never been irregular now, but now they are. I didn't have one the month after giving birth, the next two months I got one, then I skip the next month. The pain was just coming and going, now I have been in constant pain for about 2weeks now. I'm so scared of what might be wrong with me,because I know that it is not normal to feel this way!

After my most recent period, an onset of left groin discomfort has been affecting me. The discomfort runs from the left groin to the knee. Some numbness is experienced.
Its really uncomfortable for me to sit for long periods of time. It takes awhile for me to find a comfortable position to sleep as well. I feel some type of restlessness. I will be checked for a possible cyst. My question is, has anyone else experienced the same symptoms or discomfort? My fear is, that there will be no cyst. What other options do I have.

I had laparoscopic surgery in March in which my doctor removed a cyst off of an ovary and a lot of endometriosis and did an ablation. He left several small cysts, however he drained them. I went for my 3-month follow up on Tuesday. For about a week, I had been having dull, aching pains in my right side. When the tech did the transvaginal ultrasound it was very painful. She found one cyst on the right ovary, which she said was about an inch.
Ever since the ultrasound, I have been having severe pain on that side, as well as in my back. I have also had slight spotting and am very nauseated. My OBGYN is not in the office today, the nurse said she will call be back tomoroow. Is this normal after an ultrasound?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and am having a lot of pain, nausea, a temp of 100.9 and am dizzy. I went to the emergency room today and they said there was no sign of an ovarian cyst. I've had a cyst on my right ovary since I was 17. It would get bigger and rupture and I would be fine for three years. Then the same thing would happen all over again.
This happened three times, and it is very painful. This is my third child, however I had an ectopic pregnancy when I was 17 and the doctors said this is what caused the cyst. How true is this? And if the cyst is gone, why do I have so much pain still? They say that it is common for me to get a cyst during the beginning of pregnancy and that it should go away, however I have always had a cyst and why would it go away now? Is this considered a corpus luteum cyst of pregnancy or not?
